About me, about the site and it's intention
| Hi and thanks for visiting my homepage. Yet another useless private page? Hopefully not. I've done some serious work in my short life ;-) and want to share the gathered information with you.
During my studies of system science in osnabrueck germany, I heard a lecture on linear algebra. Attending this lecture the second time I decided to TeX the handwritten scriptum... you will find a copy in the download section. But be careful it´s german and quite a lot of math.. be warned!!! In my time in osnabrück i spend some work on chaos theory and it's relationship to economic modelling... You can find a copy of the term paper in the download section. There are a couple of other private projects I worked on but only one of them is in publishable state yet... Probably you heard of my mass file moving and renaming util. I call it esomaniacs nifty filemover. You will of course find it along with some plugins in the download section. And there´s some more information on this here at the page.
I like to encourage you to give feedback on this tool to improve it furthermore and probably you would like to register at my site for downloading the tool.
Cheers Elmar |

Ever had trouble with a public Java Web Application and users submitting malicous HTML code into comments, articles etc.?
I had trouble and so I just decided to write a bean that can strip HTML from a given text.
I´m planning to write a bean that can remove any HTML from a given text according to user defined rules. I´m thinking of disallow certain tags at all and allow them with or without parameters.

Due to clarifications with the documentation updates I decided to release the current FileMover version as version 0.6.3. Check Downloads section for the binaries.

Though the release number of FileMover has not been incremented because all code changes will follow in the 0.7.0 version rollup, I have to announce that the documentation had undergone a major review and had been clarified a lot. This comes along with a complete relaunch of the whole website.
I hope that this improves usability of the page as well as the FileMover tool.

It is now possible to apply functions to the new filename. The abstract syntax is functionname(parameterlist?) where parameterlist is parameter(, parameter)* and parameter itself function | "characters allowed in filenames".
The function names are configured in the file functions.properties. This file can be found in the jar. The following functions are implemented:

During a long night of programming I had the need for a tool that could rename a lot of files at once. Luckily I was sitting in front of a Linux Box and found the command line tool mmv. I'm sorry I don?t know the name of the author. But I know that this tool inspired me to write my own tool when I encountered this mass renaming probem on a Microsoft machine.
I decided to write a platform independent tool with java that allows the user to mass rename sets of files. Files are found using regular expression. The new name is built up using back references to the RegExp.

Anyway... you?ll not find any docs in the distribution. But here it is the basic instruction for starting the tool. Check out some further info for newly introduced functions:
